Many people says that women are the land and mother of the nation. They have lots of loving and caring power. Women faces lots of struggles and obstacles. This is about the struggle faces by the Nepalese driver at Kathmandu.
Kamala Tamang from 'Syampati-5, Kavre' who is 27 years old. She is riding a car at the road of Kathmandu since 8 years. When saw the ladies driver at micro buses, she was being excited and tried to became a driver. She share those dark days when bad gents kidding her, "Boys who haven't the good mind kids me". At the first time she being afraid at traffic jams but nowadays she not.
Likewise Kamala, another woman Santoshi Budathoki, who is in this sector from many years. She is a micro bus driver of the Gothatar, Sankhu and Bhaktapur route. Her husband is also a driver. She said, "This is the difficult group in comparison to tempo and taxi. All gents ride faster than me. Many passengers give congratulation to me. Someone says that how slow I drive the vehicle."
Similarly, Rebica Thapa from Khaireni-9, Nawalparasi, the first lady who drive the heavy vehicle at Kathmandu, start driving at the age of eleven. She is the driver of 'Shaja Bus' and get the salary amounted rupees nine thousands. Rebica starts her career from taxi, micro bus to mini bus.
At a glance, nowadays there are around three hundreds women driver at Kathmandu who drive the 'Safa Tempo'. It is not easy to drive the vehicles. Driver of heavy vehicles hit them after saw a lady driver. They give the good example for the matriarchal society.
